Namyangju Yonhap News reporter Doyoon Kim corresponds that Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, is piloting a system to participate in meetings in cars using radio frequencies at a parking lot. It is to find an efficient non-face-to-face meeting method in preparation for the 'post corona' era.
Namyangju City announced on the 5th of September that it will hold the 10th typhoon 'High Sun' countermeasures meeting at the parking lot of the Sports Culture Center in Ipae-dong in the afternoon of the 6th. 51 people, including Mayor Jo Kwang-han, vice mayor, chiefs from all villages participate.
This conference will be held in a 'drive-in' method using radio frequencies.
In order to block the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the seats in cars are not allowed to share with colleagues. Each person gathers in the parking lot in their own cars, tunes in a specific radio frequency, and participates in the meeting. Meeting participants can call and speak to the moderator directly from their cars, so they can listen in the other participants at the same time.
It is the same as the way the host connects the listener with the phone during a radio program. This meeting will be conducted in an order that the civic safety officer reports the typhoon route, and the towns and villages report the preparedness situation respectively.
If it is analyzed as an effective method after the pilot operation, it is planned to introduce this system as one of the future non-face-to-face meetings and increase the frequency transmission distance to be used for various meetings.
An official from Namyangju explained the meaning of this meeting, saying, "We are looking for an efficient non-face-to-face meeting plan while reducing in-person meetings by prolonging COVID-19."
